The Encyclopedia of Moon Mysteries

The Encyclopedia of Moon Mysteries PDF Author: Constance Victoria Briggs
Publisher: SCB Distributors
ISBN: 1948803127
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 199

Book Description
Our moon is an enigma. The ancients viewed it as a light to guide them in the darkness, and a god to be worshipped. In modern times, it has been taught that the Moon is simply a dead rock that is caught in Earth’s gravity, with no activity. As a researcher of metaphysical, paranormal and cosmic subjects, I have come across stories and information about the Moon that tell us that indeed there is activity there, and there has been for generations. Just who or what is causing the commotion is a mystery. There are stories that suggest that the Moon is home to extraterrestrials, theories that it is not a natural satellite, tales of anomalous lights, and tales that NASA astronauts saw extraterrestrial ships and ruins of an ancient civilization there. There is a rumor that Apollo13 was saved by extraterrestrials. Another story states that there are extraterrestrial bases on the Moon. There is even a tale that states that a part of the kingdom of Atlantis was once located there. Some even believe that there are cities beneath the surface of the Moon. There is an interesting account of a government employee using remote viewing as a means of seeing what is on the Moon. His experience is eye-opening! This is just a sample of the information that will be in The Encyclopedia of Moon Mysteries: Secrets, Conspiracy Theories, Anomalies, Extraterrestrials and More. For example, did you know that: • Aristotle and Plato wrote about a time when there was no Moon? They even gave a name of an ancient tribe of people that lived during that moonless period. • several of the NASA astronauts reported seeing UFOs while traveling to the Moon? • the Moon might be hollow? • Apollo 10 astronauts heard strange “space music” when traveling on the far side of the Moon? • strange and unexplained lights have been seen on the Moon for centuries? • there are said to be ruins of structures on the Moon? • there is an ancient tale that suggests that the first human was created on the Moon? • that radio signals have been detected coming from the Moon? • that famed astronomer Sir John Herschel saw unidentified lights above the Moon during an eclipse? • that ancient Bolivian symbols tell us that the Moon came into Earth’s orbit around 12,000 years ago? • a psychic was used by the government to relay information about the Moon? The book is separated into A to Z sections for easy reference and reading.

Book Description
Moon Dust in My Hairnet is a fresh, hopeful, and diverse sci-fi romp following an autistic lunar lunch lady as she juggles relationships and threatening corporate overlords, all while adjusting to life on the Lunar Trust. 20-year-old Lane was perfectly happy living in her big sister's shadow. The great Faraday Tanner, who invented the gravdrive and inspired the movement to found the moon's first independent colony, was the unequaled voice of the post-melt generation. That is, until an unimaginable tragedy cut Faraday’s legacy short. Wracked with survivor's guilt and desperate for her sister's utopian dream to succeed, Lane embraces her job on the moon: lunch lady—which is more than her parents think she can handle. Her boyfriend's supportive at least, when he's not drooling over one of the new recruits. Lane tries to put the past behind her, committed to enjoying her kitchen work and dating her boyfriend and their new crushes. She even participates in planning Faraday's memorial, forcing herself to grapple with monumental loss. But when colony goods go missing and vital equipment gets tampered with, Lane can't accept the events as mere pranks, banding together with new and old friends to save their home.

The Impact of Lunar Dust on Human Exploration

The Impact of Lunar Dust on Human Exploration PDF Author: Joel S. Levine
Publisher: Cambridge Scholars Publishing
ISBN: 1527564428
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 303

Book Description
When the Apollo 11 astronauts landed on the Moon on July 20, 1969, they made a very important discovery. During their landing on the surface of the Moon, the exhaust gases released from the Lunar Module landing rockets caused large amounts of surface dust to move into the thin lunar atmosphere, causing obscuration of the lunar surface. Once they landed, they found that the surface of the Moon was covered with several inches of very fine, tiny particles composed of sharp, glassy material. The lunar dust stuck to everything it came in contact with, and, once on the lunar surface, the dust eroded their spacesuits, caused overheating on equipment and instrumentation, compromised seals on their spacesuits and on lunar sample collecting boxes, irritated their eyes and lungs, and generally coated everything very efficiently. On the return to Earth in the Apollo Command Module, lunar dust inadvertently brought aboard floated freely in their cabin causing problems. Now, 50 years later, humans will return to the Moon in the Artemis Program, as early as 2024. This book summarizes what we know about lunar dust, its structure and chemical composition, its impact on human health, and how to reduce/mitigate its effects on future human exploration. The four dozen contributors to the 14 chapters in the book are planetary scientists, engineers, mission planners, medical researchers and physicians from NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA), as well as universities and industry from the United States, Australia, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Sweden.
