Excerpt from The Eighth Annual Report of the Commissioner of Health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, 1912, Vol. 1 Sir: The Act of Assembly by which the Department of Health was created prescribed that the Commissioner shall annually report on the vital statistics and sanitary conditions and prospects of the State and, set forth the action of the Department and of its officers and agents, and the names thereof during the past year. Such a report for the year 1913, being my eighth annual report, I have now the honor to transmit. Other work done by me as a servant of the State in positions which I have held ea: Ojficio (state Quarantine Board, Water Supply Commission, Dental Council, and Bureau of Medical Education and Licensure) is given in the reports made by these bodies respectively.
