The selected papers are organized into six main parts; I. Conceptual and Methodological Issues; II. Consequences of Acculturation; III. Cognitive Processes; IV. Values; V. Social Psychology; and VI. Personality, Developmental Psychology, Health Psychology. The themes that characterize current issues in cross-cultural psychology are presented. One is theoretical and involves the controversy regarding 'cross-cultural' vs. 'cultural' or 'indigenous' psychology. A second is the emphasis on 'indigenous' psychology, and on the detailed description of the historical and contextual variables of the culture. Acculturation is currently receiving considerable attention in cross-cultural psychology e.g., differential cognitive functioning as a consequence of acculturation, ethnic identity as part of the process of acculturation of migrants or ethnic groups, etc. The interest in values remains very strong in cross-cultural psychology. In addition to individualism-collectivism, there is new interest in Hofstede's Masculinity-Femininity.
