Excerpt from The Law Relating to Parish Councils Being the Local Government Act, 1894: Together With an Introduction and Statues Relating to Parish and District Councils, Circulars and Orders of the Local Government Board, Notes, Index, &C To the portions of the Act which relate to the reform of existing authorities it would have been impracticable to apply similar treatment; and I have accordingly, in annotating such portions of the Act, contented myself with endeavouring to elucidate the changes in the law that they effect. It seems proper to state that, except in some few instances, no specific mention has been made in the present work of repeals effected by the Statute Law Revision Acts: words in any enactment quoted that have been repealed by these Acts have as a rule simply been omitted.
