Book Description
Lord knows, Rev Al has had his personal and very public ups and downs - but he's come out bigger and better than ever. Though the host of MSNBC's PoliticsNation is as fiery and outspoken as ever about the events and issues that matter most, he's learned that the only way we can get right as a nation is by getting right from within. In this, his first book in over a decade, Rev Al will take you behind the scenes of some unexpected places – from officiating Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston’s funerals, hanging out with Jay-Z and President Barack Obama at the White House, to taking charge of the Trayvon Martin case. And he will discuss how he came to his unexpected conclusions in such areas as Immigration, Gay Rights, Religion and the Family. But the heart of the book is an intimate discussion of his own personal evolution from street activist, pulpit provocateur and civil rights leader to the man he is today - one hundred pounds slimmer, and according to the New York Observer “the most thoughtful voice on cable.” No, the Rev. Al you met ten years ago isn’t the same man you’ll meet today. And he has a simple promise. We can transform this nation and we can all lead better lives if we're willing to transform our hearts and transform our minds.

The Stone Rejected

The Stone Rejected PDF Author: Delena Spinelli
Publisher: iUniverse
ISBN: 0595418775
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 122

Book Description
This divinely inspired body of work has been fifteen years in the making...covering three continents and six countries. The revelations contained in The Stone Rejected are God-breathed and purposely prepared for this hour in time. It is the fulfillment of God's word spoken in the book of Habakkuk, which commands, "Write the vision and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that read it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time but at the end it shall speak and not lie." Today mankind is thirsty for truth and it is because truth is always logical and its foundation is based on pure fact. When applied, it conforms not only to fact but reason. A lie must change or metamorphose to hold its power over one's mind. This is what has happened to the original word of God. It has been changed so many times that it has almost become unrecognizable. Therefore, the sword of truth has been commanded to rise and cut into pieces the body of deception, which stands behind the mask of religion.

Book Description
Ironically, The Rejected Stone reflects the circumstances that have surrounded my being. I had little idea of how to start. I enquired of the Lord for direction on how this task should be achieved. He told me to carry on, and that He would send a helping hand to assist until completion. I prayed, believed and obeyed the Lord's instructions. Shortly after that, His words came to pass. I believed it was not what happened to me that matters, but how I responded to it. I was ready to transform my bad moments to good, problems, trials and tribulations into opportunities. Somehow, life could be funny, especially when there were challenges whose ultimate impact could not be seen. Like David of old, who lifted up his eyes to the hills when he was challenged, so I lifted my eyes when life and the pangs of death were all around me. Apart from family troubles and neglect, especially from my mother and those around her, my marriage also brought near-to-death predicaments. It was so tormenting, that life seemed unbearable and meaningless. I cannot remember experiencing happiness in the fourteen years I spent in marriage. I enduredthe marriage, instead of enjoying it, although it produced three children - in this, I felt that God consoled me. During this time, I zealously sought help, but none materialized. As if to take me from the frying pan to the fire. Some so-called ministers of God turned my mourning into pulpit-preaching, scheming to covert my estate into their personal property, rendering me helpless with sugar- coated and corrugated bible messages. They brought sorrow and sickness, instead of healing, to me. Irrespective of these torments, my chains fell off! God, in His infinite mercy, delivered me from all diabolical twists. God gave me a discerning spirit, in no small measure, so that I could re-organize, and lead my life in the right way. I am now totally refurbished for God's use; a vessel of honour and glory. This reformation in me led to the establishment of the Voice of the Voiceless Ministry, the real purpose of my being. Today, I can sing a new song, hence this book - ''The Rejected Stone''. This book is a source of encouragement for those who think their world has come to an end, in terms of marriage, career or personal ambition. I have deliberately detached myself from the book, and I now tell the story as it occurred.

The Glory Now Revealed

The Glory Now Revealed PDF Author: Andrew M. Davis
Publisher: Baker Books
ISBN: 1493430270
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 204

Book Description
Believers know that when we die we enter heaven and will spend eternity there with God and the saints who have gone before us. But what actually happens in heaven? What are we going to be doing there? Won't it get boring at some point? According to Scripture, a large part of our experience of heaven will be a continual revealing of God's glory. Not just his glory in the moment, but during all of time. The mysteries of providence, the hidden movements of God throughout history, and the forgotten and unnoted works of even the most obscure of God's people will be unveiled so that we can see how wise, loving, gracious, and powerful our God is. And though we will experience perfection in heaven, we will never be omniscient, which means we will always be learning more about God's glory, inspiring us to return joyful praise and thanksgiving. If your vision of heaven has been limited to clouds and harps and angels, it's time to expand that view with the truth found in this biblically based look at the afterlife.

The book, THE REJECTED STONE, is a book that is capable of reassuring readers facing life challenges, of any magnitude, that there is light at the end of the tunnel. It is a book that turns hopeless situations into real hope, fear into favour, a loser into a winner, lack into plenty and ashes to beauty. Although the book has made me cast my mind back to what I thought I had forgotten, I must say that it has brought out the best in me and further strengthened me to move on with life's challenges. It is a book I whole-heartedly recommend to all women, both in and out of marriage, including young ones looking for a life partner. It is a book with a futuristic view of Shaping people's future, and anchoring their life, faith and total being in God. The book is written with the purpose of carrying readers along and focusing their undivided attention on solving life's problems, especially on the subject of marriage and other relationships. ISBN: 1638441111

Languages : en
Pages : 229

Book Description
Sometimes we experience seemingly negative situations which, with time, prove to be the diametric opposite. Indeed, such situations may not only be painful at first but may also threaten to deny us our well-deserved joy in life. When faced with such challenges, we should not be discouraged but endeavor to learn the necessary lessons taught. These may manifest in that instant or with time, depending on the circumstances. Indeed, when others attempt to negatively stereotype us, even as we maintain our composure, we should refuse to capitulate, knowing that beyond the base instincts of the seemingly mean-spirited, life can be beautiful. Ada Adams said it perfectly in her refrain, "There is a light at the end of every tunnel. Some tunnels just happen to be longer than others."

Book Description
Jesus: His Story in Stone is a reflection on still-existing stone objects that Jesus would have known, seen, or even touched. Each of the seventy short chapters is accompanied by a photograph taken on location in Israel. Arranged chronologically, the one-page meditations compose a portrait of Christ as seen through the significant stones in His life, from the cave where He was born to the rock of Calvary. While packed with historical and archaeological detail, the book’s main thrust is devotional, leading the reader both spiritually and physically closer to Jesus.
