Teaching Children All about Vowels (Reading Book 1) can be used to teach students the short and long vowel sounds, the four sounds of y (three of which are vowel sounds), the r-controlled vowels, vowel digraphs, and diphthongs. In addition, children will be taught the three common ways of identifying a long vowel sound (i.e., vowel sounds changed by a final e as in "ride," double vowel patterns as in "coat," and CV and CCV words as in "he" and "she").
