Book Description
I am a part of a traveling ministry and visit home churches around the United States. Starting in late 2002. In that time I have seen a great many Christians from all around the nation in many different situations. I had what I thought Christians were like and what they did and didn't do. But quickly found out that Christians didn't always act the way they should or knew one thing really well, but not another. Things I've seen that repeated over and over again, in many situations. It's not like you can go up to someone and tell them what they are doing very easily. I felt it was better for me to write about what I have seen and what should be. I have also written in this book about my personal struggles to attain godliness. I view dying to self as a continual process, and that one has never fully arrived; there are many veils peeled away in due process. I believe that there are still levels of maturity that are not even attained yet. I felt I could fully say what I would like all Christians to hear. This is my portion, and it is incomplete, because everybody has a piece to the puzzle. "We need to have humility to take our pieces and to put them together"(paraphrased Rick Joyner). I'm not the all in all who knows all things, I'm not perfect. I am not an intense person, so I try to say things in such a way to try to not offend, but on the other side, I feel that the truth needs to be said. I think we often overlook the simple things Jesus said in the gospels, many things that we often forget about. This book was written in spurts all around the nation over a period of about 15 years. If you want to know what the book is about, the easiest way is to go through the chapters list (topics). Self Exposed

Self Exposed PDF Author: Clay A. Henry
Publisher: Winepress Publishing
ISBN: 9781414117171
Category : Christian literature
Languages : en
Pages : 355

Book Description
The Way of the Cross Is the Way of Joy What did Jesus mean when He told us to deny ourselves and take up a cross (Matthew 16:24)? The idea evokes images of Christians who sigh and moan, ¿This [fill in the blank with the bothersome circumstance of the day] is just my cross to bear.¿ Or perhaps we think that those who take these commands most literally will unhappily walk the streets dragging wooden beams. Self Exposed presents an entirely different picture. By viewing the dynamic nature of the spiritual self through in-depth exposition and analysis, author Clay Henry shows that embracing Jesus¿ directives bring freedom and joy! When we deny ourselves and pick up a cross, we release control of our lives. As Henry points out, a person who was crucified no longer directs his or her future. Carrying a cross releases us to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, to grow in faith, and to live an increasingly, meaningful life on earth.

Pages : 358

Book Description
"Who is Christ? Who is Antichrist? Both are present in the world as well as within ourselves. How do we tell them apart, especially when the strategies of Antichrist are subtle and calculated to deceive? The Path of Christ or Antichrist provides clarity and insight into the most important choice that we make in life, to be or not to be who we really are. This is a choice we affirm with each decision, large or small, that we make in life. The authors outline the difference between Christ and Antichrist and hence the choices that we all face on the path to spiritual enlightenment and self-mastery. They offer new interpretations of the age-old battle between light and darkness and how it affects our daily lives along with spiritual techniques to guard our consciousness and direct spiritual light and energy for the blessing and healing of all life."

The Vertical Self

The Vertical Self PDF Author: Mark Sayers
Publisher: HarperChristian + ORM
ISBN: 1418555347
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 222

Book Description
It's time for a return to Radical Holiness. Welcome to the 21st century where you can now purchase and exchange personalities, depending on mood and circumstance; where you are told that you can be anyone you want to be, and identity is no longer based in a sense of self but rather in the imagery you choose at that moment. The Bible contains a radically different way of understanding our identity. The path that God has chosen for us to discover who we really are is the path of holiness. The most exciting thing is that this path is not for otherworldy saints, rather it is a path of earthy, gutsy holiness. It's a path that is not about basing your life on this world or of shunning your desires. Instead, it is about bringing your hopes, your dreams, your brokenness, your desires, your humanness under the Lordship of Christ. By doing this we don’t just discover a new way of living out our faith, we discover a liberating, revolutionary, life-embracing way of being truly human.
