The subject-matter has been carefully compiled, under my supervision, by Mr. Francis Jones, F.R.S.E., formerly Junior Demonstrator in this laboratory, and many improvements in the analytical tables are due to Mr. Schorlemmer, F.R.S., the Senior Demonstrator.
