Book Description
Excerpt from Animal Welfare Information Center Newsletter, Vol. 7: Summer 1996 The original Laboratory Animal Welfare Act (pl 89 passed August 24, 1966, did not require annual reports be made to usda. The Animal Welfare Act of 1970 (pl 91-579) (approved December 24, 1970) required that research facilities report certain information to usda, which submits an annual report to Congress containing specific information not later than March of each year. The first Animal Welfare Enforcement report to Congress was in 1973, and annual reports have con tinued since that time with several reporting changes along the way. Each of the annual report tables will be discussed separately. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Description
Excerpt from Animal Welfare Information Center Newsletter, Vol. 8: Summer 1997 Professional and regulatory guidelines seemingly recog nize illumination as a variable that affects not only scientific data but also the well-being of the research subject and the quality of animal husbandry. Most regulations, however, seem to overlook the fact that uniform lighting conditions, though very desirable, are impractical in the conventional monkey room with double-tier cage arrangement.
