Qualitative research was selected using a pragmatic framework to determine the sources of construction waste. Thematic analysis was used to evaluate front-end site waste reduction strategies. Design changes were found to be the major source of site waste from Australian construction projects. The thesis concluded that a national code of practice for site waste be established.
