Book Description
Never in the history of mankind have nations and peoples been so close and yet so far apart. In the age of globalization and digital social media that connect us all, why are nations and races and religions still in conflict? Just fifty miles separate Alaska from Eastern Russia, and yet these great countries are clearly separated by the rift of a cold war. Muslims are slaughtering each other in Syria. Terrorist Shiites that belong to Hezbollah are leaving a tragic scar on the people of Lebanon, a country that has always been a melting pot of different cultures and a beacon of freedom of expression and religious practice. Islamic fundamentalism still cripples many countries, and Africa is mostly a mess, despite its enormous natural resources. Corruption and greed are wreaking havoc on the planet, and the terrible consequences of the stress we are placing on the environment and on wild animals are starting to become undeniably evident. Earth cannot support the exploding human population, yet the global population keeps growing. Relationships between men and women are breaking down, and divorce is at its highest rate ever. What is the common denominator in all this chaos? What is the reason for all this suffering? The answer might be spiritual ignorance. But there’s an antidote to this decadence, and it’s called Rumi. Once you taste Rumi’s passion, you will become a transformed human being, and your soul will be on fire. Rumi’s poetry tries to capture the sweetness and the joy of knowing God, or Allah, or the Truth, or the Infinite Energy. It tries to define and explain the mystery that Life is. And the fire of the Truth burns down all the petty barriers between human beings and their false constructs and idols of pleasure and prestige. Suffering ends when enlightenment begins. The Mysteries of Allah and His Muhammad

The Mysteries of Allah and His Muhammad PDF Author: Fatai Badmos
Publisher: Strategic Book Publishing & Rights Agency
ISBN: 1681815885
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 658

Book Description
The Mysteries of Allah and His Muhammad is indeed a scanty summary of a potentially great debate. However unwieldy or incomprehensible the actual details may be, certain contexts of the whole or part can always be identified for discussion. In the physique of mankind, Allah manifests. He does so on nature glaringly, just as is inferred from various sections of the book. Whilst He does, the divinity of a being “not more than a prophet” is also undoubtedly established. That co-joining of the One and Only Creator and a creation (a man, Muhammad), who coincidentally is most positively and negatively controversial, should interest those who consider man to be the meanest of God’s creations. That we may not discount knowledge of any sort, even that considered most sacrilegious (science), God’s inspiration to a mortal being (Muhammad) corroborates too many ideas put forth by scientists or intellectuals’ discoveries and postulations. What a mystery that the lightbulb, which in theory and description was already encoded in the Quran more than a thousand years ago, before one bulb ever rolled out in a factory! Only simple minds take things for granted and give no thought to the grandiose schemes of our world and its elements. This book serves as a jolt to those who oversimplify “what is” or the mysterious.

The Islamic Challenge in Europe

The Islamic Challenge in Europe PDF Author: Raphael Israeli
Publisher: Routledge
ISBN: 135148057X
Category : Political Science
Languages : en
Pages : 462

Book Description
Since the World Trade Center attacks in New York on September 11, 2001, Europe has been plagued by Islamist attacks that have taken many lives and disrupted many services. Considerable attention has been paid to radical Islamist attacks on the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, but far less focus has been on the Islamist extremist impact on the rest of Europe. This book warns all Europeans, but Middle Easterners as well, that they are not immune to terror. That terror is confined to Jews and Israel is a myth. Muslim extremist attacks have taken place against other Muslim nations--as well as European nations in which Jewish influence or Israeli support is negligible. The waves of Muslim recrimination against the West have given rise to internal struggles within the Arab world played out in terrorist acts. Muslim brotherhoods have defined a global war against other religions, nations, and cultures that stray from the principles of fundamentalism--a cultural and military jihad. Just where religious identity supervenes national identity has become a critical turning point. Israeli's book shows that the line between moderates and extremists within the Islamic fold is vague, ambiguous, and in certain situations non-existent. It draws attention to polls and public sentiments of the Islamic faithful, and emphasizes the Islamic attack on modernization and its cultural sources. This timely volume is addressed to those in the West who are not accustomed to thinking in apocalyptic terms. Israeli provides painstaking details of European responses to Islamist challenges, particularly those who prefer pragmatic compliance rather than response. He demonstrates that Islamic extremism continues to grow in the heartland of the European world. This is neither an optimistic nor pessimistic book; its disturbing message may be a wake-up call to some. It is a necessary read for those who want to go beyond news, opting for a more intellectual and comprehensive diet.

Muhammad

Muhammad PDF Author: Juan Cole
Publisher: Bold Type Books
ISBN: 1568587821
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 275

Book Description
In the midst of the dramatic seventh-century war between two empires, Muhammad was a spiritual seeker in search of community and sanctuary. Many observers stereotype Islam and its scripture as inherently extreme or violent-a narrative that has overshadowed the truth of its roots. In this masterfully told account, preeminent Middle East expert Juan Cole takes us back to Islam's-and the Prophet Muhammad's-origin story. Cole shows how Muhammad came of age in an era of unparalleled violence. The eastern Roman Empire and the Sasanian Empire of Iran fought savagely throughout the Near East and Asia Minor. Muhammad's profound distress at the carnage of his times led him to envision an alternative movement, one firmly grounded in peace. The religion Muhammad founded, Islam, spread widely during his lifetime, relying on soft power instead of military might, and sought armistices even when militarily attacked. Cole sheds light on this forgotten history, reminding us that in the Qur'an, the legacy of that spiritual message endures. A vibrant history that brings to life the fascinating and complex world of the Prophet, Muhammad is the story of how peace is the rule and not the exception for one of the world's most practiced religions.

Sleeper cells are being awakened—likely by the leader of the Cause, who has recently escaped from captivity and is coordinating attacks not only on America but also on Riley and his loved ones. As Jim Hicks, Scott Ross, and the rest of the Counterterrorism Division follow leads in Europe, Riley goes on the offensive to draw out his attackers. But can the Cause be stopped before they’re able to reach their ultimate goal? #3 Blackout Riley Covington is still reeling from his father’s brutal murder when he learns he’s been traded. Meanwhile, the counterterrorism division has detected a plot to detonate electromagnetic pulse bombs that could leave the U.S. without power, communications, and transportation—right down to dropping planes out of the sky. CTD scrambles to stop the attacks, but they run out of time. Amid the fallout, Riley, Scott, Skeeter, and CTD must regroup to make sure the second bomb doesn’t reach its destination. #4 Inside Threat After taking two football seasons off, Riley Covington is attempting to make a comeback in the league while trying to forget Khadi Faroughi, now on security detail for a prominent senator. But a new attack turns both of their lives upside down yet again. During a state funeral, terrorists overrun the National Cathedral and take senators, congressmen, and their entourages hostage, including Khadi. This new generation of The Cause is made up of homegrown terrorists—an inside threat to the security of the nation. They release most of the hostages, but Khadi and several others are kept behind as significant bargaining chips. The Cause pledges to behead one member of Congress each day throughout the month of Ramadan as a punishment for their own country’s rejection of Islam. Despite the protests of Counter-Terrorism Division director Scott Ross, Riley races to CTD armed with a plan and a fierce determination to rescue Khadi at all costs.
