Book Description
The Sword of Allah: Khalid Bin Al-Waleed, His Life and Campaigns Khalid bin Al-Waleed was one of the greatest generals in history, and one of the greatest heroes of history. Besides him, Genghis Khan was the only other general to remain undefeated in his entire military life. Khalid was sent to the Persian Empire with an army consisting of 18,000 volunteers to conquer the richest province of the Persian empire, Euphrates region of lower Mesopotamia, (present day Iraq). Khalid entered lower Mesopotamia with this force. He won quick victories in four consecutive battles: the Battle of Chains, fought in April 633; the Battle of River, fought in the third week of April 633; the Battle of Walaja, fought in May 633 (where he successfully used a double envelopment manoeuvre), and Battle of Ullais, fought in the mid-May 633. In the last week of May 633, al-Hira, the regional capital city of lower Mesopotamia, fell to Khalid. The inhabitants were given peace on the terms of annual payment of jizya (tribute) and agreed to provide intelligence for Muslims. After resting his armies, in June 633, Khalid laid siege to Anbar which despite fierce resistance fell in July 633 as a result of the siege imposed on the town. Khalid then moved towards the south, and captured Ein ul Tamr in the last week of July, 633.

Book Description
The Shade of Swords is the first cohesive history of Jihad, written by one of India's leading journalists and writers. With British and American troops in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and once again in Iraq, the potential for Jihadi recruitment is ever increasing. Explaining how Jihad thrives on complex and shifting notions of persecution, victory and sacrifice, and illustrating how Muslims themselves have historically tried both to direct and control the phenomenon of Jihad, Akbar shows how Jihad pervades the mind and soul of Islam, revealing its strength and significance. Murder in the Name of Allah

Murder in the Name of Allah PDF Author: Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad
Publisher: Islam International Publications Ltd
ISBN:
Category : Religion
Languages : en
Pages : 159

Book Description
Murder in the Name of Allah is the first translation into English of Mazhab Ke Nam Per Khoon, a re-affirmation of the basic tenets of Islam. Hardly a day passes on which an Islamic event does not make headlines. The president of a Muslim country is assassinated by the supporters of Muslim brotherhood; a European journalist is taken hostage by Islamic Jihad; a Pan-American aircraft is hijacked by another Muslim group; American university professors are taken into custody by Hezbullah; Two passenger carrying airplanes were slammed in to world trade center. The glare of 'Islamic' revolution in Iran is reflected through the flares of every gulf oil refinery. This book is a reminder that the purpose of any religion is the spread of peace, tolerance and understanding. It argues that the meaning of Islam—submission to the will of God—has been steadily corrupted by minority elements in the community. Instead of spreading peace, the religion has been abused by fanatics and made an excuse for violence and the spread of terror, both inside and outside the faith. In confirming the true spirit of Islam, it makes the point to followers of all religions that the future of mankind depends on the intrinsic values of love, tolerance, and freedom of conscience and of belief.

Book Description
For many in the West, the worldwide presence of Islam has gone largely unnoticed over the years. Islam has simply been perceived as just another world religion. Meanwhile, Muslims have been quietly establishing themselves in most Western cultures and nations, and their places of worship have risen alongside the existing churches and gathering places in these communities. Suddenly, however, Islam has become the enemy, a force to be reckoned with and confronted. With catastrophic terrorism and war zones dotting the globe, Western nations are desperately trying to understand what lies behind all this hostility. In Sword of Allah, author David Zeidan explores the meaning of today's alarming events and paints a sobering picture of how we've come to this place. By drawing heavily from Islamic history and original sources, Zeidan creates a fascinating context for contemporary Muslim rage. Even more importantly, he provides a foundation for understanding the Muslim mindset by carefully comparing and contrasting it with Christian history and evangelical thinking.
