Application of the Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tube to Aircrew Cooling Problems

Application of the Ranque-Hilsch Vortex Tube to Aircrew Cooling Problems PDF Author: Robert E. Van Patten
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Flight crews
Languages : en
Pages : 22

Book Description
The Ranque-Hilsch vortex tube, a device with no moving parts, produces significant refrigeration effect when driven by compressed air. This report disseminates up-to-date information on the performance of current vortex tubes, reports the results of an aircrew cooling experiment using the device, and suggests other uses of potential interest to the Air Force. The history of the vortex tube and its basic theory are presented briefly. (Author).

The Ranque Hilsch Vortex Tube Demystified

The Ranque Hilsch Vortex Tube Demystified PDF Author: André Kaufmann
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3030897664
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 77

Book Description
The book describes the thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and working principle of the Ranque Hilsch Vortex Tube. Although vortex tubes have been around for a long time, different explications of their fundamental physics and operation can be found in literature and on the internet. This volume investigates the working principle based on thermodynamics and fluid dynamics. It provides full explication of these parameters in one single work along with results of new investigations not published elsewhere. In addition, the book features a wealth of illustrations on various aspects of the vortex tube that make it easy to read and understand.

Vortex Tube Machinery

Vortex Tube Machinery PDF Author: Mark Luther
Publisher: Nuke4me
ISBN:
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 12

Book Description
The vortex tube lives up to expectations by constraining compacted air directly into a council of era. The air turns the cam to a high rate of velocity by virtue of radial energy.A vortex tube is a gadget that differentiates compacted air into hot and icy momentums. The unit doesn't have moving parts, and gives a capable detachment and estimation of hot and chilly air for modern employments. This book by Mark Luther will give a brief explanation on tube vortexer, For more information , visit: http://alkalisci.com/lab-equipment/vortex-mixers.html

Advances in Cryogenic Engineering

Advances in Cryogenic Engineering PDF Author: Quan-Sheng Shu
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 1461542154
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 967

Book Description
In recent years, the technology of cryogenic comminution has been widely applied in the field of chemical engineering, food making, medicine production, and particularly in recycling of waste materials. Because of the increasing pollution of waste tires and the shortage of raw rubber resource, the recycling process for waste rubber products has become important and commercially viable. This technology has shown a great number of advantages such as causing no environmental pollution, requiring low energy consumption and producing high quality products. Hence, the normal crusher which was used to reclaim materials, such as waste tires, nylon, plastic and many polymer materials at atmospheric 12 temperature is being replaced by a cryogenic crusher. • In the cryogenic crusher, the property of the milled material is usually very sensitive to temperature change. When a crusher is in operation, it will generate a great deal of heat that causes the material temperature increased. Once the temperature increases over the vitrification temperature, the material property will change and lose the brittle behavior causing the energy consumption to rise sharply. Consequently, the comminution process cannot be continued. Therefore, it is believed that the cryogenic crusher is the most critical component in the cryogenic comminution system. The research on the temperature increase and energy consumption in the cryogenic crusher is not only to reduce the energy consumption of the crasher, but also to reduce the energy consumption of the cryogenic system.
