Book Description
Excerpt from Orations and Poetry: On Moral and Religious Subjects Man, ever since his fall in the garden of Eden, has been inspired with a spirit of deviation from righteousness, which often increases his misery. His imaginations are only evil continually-laying structures of wretchedness and wo; and hewing out vessels that can hold no water. Such is his digres sion from the requirements of God, that he is a stran ger to virtue, and lies buried in the open field of his pollution. But among all his wicked inventions, King Alcohol is the topmost stone. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
