Book Description
From the Late Prof. W J Bray This is not a casual glossing over of subjects like a TV documentary, nor is it a narrative. There is some math involved, and the subject of Quantum Theory is a difficult one both to describe and to understand by scientists and laymen alike. The math presented is reduced to some basic algebra. The purpose is to look at the evidence from a philosophical and religious perspective, as well as human perception and the deconstruction of various paradoxes and decide if the evidence is compelling toward the conclusion that we are not finite beings. This is not a discussion that suggests Quantum Physics is some route to the mystical, but a discussion that suggests we are not finite. We then look at the finite nature of our cosmos and conclude, if the evidence is compelling enough, that we are infinite beings merely perceiving a finite system. That being said (from a teacher in Romania): Written by a Physicist whose expertise spans a wide range of fields, from Neuroscience Research to philosophy and religion, and who has also experienced multiple medically documented NDEs, the book suggests mathematically that reality, the Universe as we perceive it, can only exist interdependent with consciousness. Reviewing Quantum Physics from its founders' definitions up to the latest research in the field, Bray explains in detail in language every layman can understand, provided commitment to do further research available on the WWW.The text then goes on to describe how we interact with, manipulate and define the Universe, ultimately how we "paint the universe into being", to use Bray's own syntagm. He substantiates his theory with logical arguments and hard data that have been proven correct throughout a century of quantum research. After disproving beyond any reasonable doubt that consciousness is an artifact of the physical brain, by using experimental data and conclusions independently verified by leading researchers worldwide, Bray describes how consciousness creates the physical universe, how it is mathematically impossible that consciousness can be finite, and that the universe is. His conclusion that consciousness is unique for each individual is a natural outcome of his scientific, physics-based argumentation, as is the evidence that consciousness must be infinite and eternal in order to exist. We are perceiving this short, finite, physical life, while at the same time existing in the eternal consciousness, unaware of it, because we are focusing on this finite Universe as a mere perception. Bray's purpose is not to "prove" God, but to show that each of us is a unique individual consciousness that exists beyond space-time, for infinity. He goes even further to identify the truths that have been enduring and immutable throughout centuries in philosophy and religion, by distilling them from myth and dogma. In addition, by doing this, he dismisses many paradoxes in physics, religions and philosophy. Bray succeeds in convincingly intersecting science and spirituality and showing that, contrary to cognitive beliefs which are prone to constant change, Faith is an immutable spiritual state. He has studied it not only as a scientist, but has also experienced NDEs first-hand, through recurrent cardiac arrests due to a severe medical condition that brought him repeatedly to the brink of death. Thus, the NDEs are described from the perspective of a rigorous scientist who refrains from including any biased description of them. His arguments are unambiguous, devoid of metaphor or uncertainty and the book is by no means an ideological argument or exploration, although it is at odds with almost everything written to date; Bray's claims are substantiated with solid mathematical axioms. 'Quantum Temporal Dynamics,' (not related to other material using that name) is included at the end of the book, re-exploring quantum theory from scratch, and detailing mechanisms for faster- than- light travel using current technology.

Book Description
The list of topics is described below. This is an academic deconstruction of the NDE, consciousness, human perception, and religion, all intended to derive a meaning or definition for consciousness and determine of consciousness is indeed an infinite thing perceiving a finite universe. If that is the case, then this infinite thing, consciousness, cannot actually reside in a finite domain (you cannot fit an infinite thing inside of a finite container) but must be residing at this very moment in an infinite domain. This description changes the very nature of our 'selves,' our perception of 'self,' and our meaning and presence, or perception of our presence here. PART 1: THE CLINICAL NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE 1. Book Description
Written by a Physicist with 20 years in Neuro-science Medical Research who has experienced numerous medically documented NDEs. The book describes in depth and detail the mysteries of quantum physics and its relationship with consciousness, the fact that we 'paint the universe into being, ' using the NDE to bridge the gap between infinite consciousness and this finite reality and provides for the first time a working definition for consciousness that satisfies all of the requirements in quantum physics and consequently every religion of man, in terms specifically accessible to the lay reader; and goes on to explain in detail 'how we do it, ' how we control time itself by our perception and awareness, how we manipulate the four forces of nature and infinite energy to 'paint the universe into being, ' and have done so since before the creation of this universe itself. The working definition in question simply requires consciousness to be unique and infinite in duration and scope, the evidence of this expressed in terms that challenges the scientific community to find an irrefutable counter argument, which is unlikely, leaving this finite universe to be infinitesimal, to the extent that it does not truly exist, merely an experience of perception that we ourselves define, an extension of ourselves, a 'construct.' Modern mainstream physics has in some cases departed from this original view of the founders of quantum physics who expected future generations to find this working definition for consciousness in order to complete a model that describes a universe interdependent with 'us.' These alternative views that attempt to eliminate consciousness from the equations are described in detail and an explanation in exacting terms where and why they fall short is provided. Although the details of quantum physics have been out of reach for the lay reader to date, the actual details are explained and the math described in terms most anyone can understand. The various paradoxes are described and investigated in detail and upon utilizing this working definition for consciousness that requires infinite unique existence these paradoxes simply 'go away.' Interestingly, these paradoxes extend to philosophy and religion, and using the same definition for infinite unique consciousness even the most unanswerable religious paradoxes disappear; seemingly unanswerable questions such as 'if there is a God why is there so much suffering in the world?' Because you are not here, this is merely a perception, it is not really happening... Being a unique infinite being, you therefore reside in an infinite domain, not this finite universe; you cannot fit an infinite thing inside of a finite 'box.' There have been many attempts by various authors to find these relationships in quantum physics literally filling the bookshelves attempting to validate or construct entire psycho-spiritual belief systems that seem appealing to the lay reader. Unfortunately, since none of them to date have been physicists, their understanding of the science and the vocabulary has been misconception and unintentionally misleading. The corrections to these misconceptions and urban myths are provided as well as dismissing misconceptions and urban myths in science, rather direct and irreverently. But when the correct usage and understanding of quantum physics and its relationship with infinite unique consciousness is applied, an answer does come out of it, an answer far greater in scope than anything written to date. It defines a 'self' that 'paints the universe into being, ' beyond our previous conceptions of our own nature and extends to all life, everywhere. There is a lot of not main stream thinking in science presented here, hypothetical, and speculative, but presented as such. The foundations for these are clearly referenced and easily accessible.

The Gifts of Near-Death Experiences

The Gifts of Near-Death Experiences PDF Author: Sheila Fabricant Linn
Publisher: Red Wheel/Weiser
ISBN: 1571747435
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 258

Book Description
Near-death experiences (NDEs) are common, well-documented, and similar across cultures throughout the world. Current estimates are that between 4 and 15 percent of the world's population have had an NDE. Therefore, almost everyone has either had one or knows someone else who has had one. Some of the fascination with NDEs comes from the fact that they often result in great leaps in personal growth. These leaps are characterized by the loss of the fear of death, the healing of deep hurts, an increase in self-esteem and compassion for others, a sense of union with all things, and a clearer sense of how to fulfill one's purpose in life. This is a book that teaches readers how to reap the benefits of NDEs without having to experience trauma. In the course of their many workshops around the world, the authors have discovered that when one immerses oneself in accounts of NDEs, one can experience love, hope, healing, and a sense of purpose. This is the only book that systematically encourages the reader to create a spiritual and psychological healing practice based on NDEs. Each chapter includes an account of a fascinating NDE, followed by a series of questions, meditations, exercises, and video links. The reader is encouraged to contemplate these stories and their own lives. It is truly a profound guide to both living and dying.

A Burst of Conscious Light

A Burst of Conscious Light PDF Author: Andrew Silverman
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1620559641
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 232

Book Description
Provides evidence that human consciousness can never be reproduced and exposes the perils of artificial intelligence • Explains how consciousness transcends the brain and body through quantum theory and accounts of consciousness in the clinically dead • Shares scientific evidence of how the image on the Shroud of Turin was produced and connects these findings to evidence concerning near-death experiences • Reveals how consciousness cannot be reproduced by a machine and how attempts to do so threaten what makes us human Stephen Hawking once said that the unanticipated consequences of artificial intelligence will be the greatest threat to humanity’s survival. In this book, Dr. Andrew Silverman reveals why the powerful consciousness of the human mind could never be manufactured and so cannot be reproduced with technology. Integrating extensive scientific research from three seemingly unrelated fields of study--quantum mechanics, near-death experiences, and the Shroud of Turin--Silverman reveals the pitfalls and perils of artificial intelligence and addresses the fundamentally flawed thinking that underlies it. Drawing on his work as one of the leading experts on the Shroud of Turin as well as research by scientists from NASA and Los Alamos, he shows how the image on the Shroud could only have been produced by a flash of light as intense as a nuclear explosion--a burst of light that occurred after the body was in the tomb. Sharing medical evidence of consciousness in people declared clinically dead, the author shows how the light of consciousness evidenced by the Shroud is also a consistent feature of most near-death experiences. Exploring the non-local nature of consciousness--how it transcends the physical brain and body, Silverman explains why the human mind cannot be reduced to a computer and examines what separates sentient beings from machines. He shows how getting caught up in the push for artificial intelligence and the technological quest for immortality--through the attempt to “download” our minds onto computers--will only lead us to devalue and erase what makes us unique and irreplaceable in this cold, dark universe: our humanity.

Science and the Near-Death Experience

Science and the Near-Death Experience PDF Author: Chris Carter
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1594779023
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 320

Book Description
The scientific evidence for life after death • Explains why near-death experiences (NDEs) offer evidence of an afterlife and discredits the psychological and physiological explanations for them • Challenges materialist arguments against consciousness surviving death • Examines ancient and modern accounts of NDEs from around the world, including China, India, and many from tribal societies such as the Native American and the Maori Predating all organized religion, the belief in an afterlife is fundamental to the human experience and dates back at least to the Neanderthals. By the mid-19th century, however, spurred by the progress of science, many people began to question the existence of an afterlife, and the doctrine of materialism--which believes that consciousness is a creation of the brain--began to spread. Now, using scientific evidence, Chris Carter challenges materialist arguments against consciousness surviving death and shows how near-death experiences (NDEs) may truly provide a glimpse of an awaiting afterlife. Using evidence from scientific studies, quantum mechanics, and consciousness research, Carter reveals how consciousness does not depend on the brain and may, in fact, survive the death of our bodies. Examining ancient and modern accounts of NDEs from around the world, including China, India, and tribal societies such as the Native American and the Maori, he explains how NDEs provide evidence of consciousness surviving the death of our bodies. He looks at the many psychological and physiological explanations for NDEs raised by skeptics--such as stress, birth memories, or oxygen starvation--and clearly shows why each of them fails to truly explain the NDE. Exploring the similarities between NDEs and visions experienced during actual death and the intersection of physics and consciousness, Carter uncovers the truth about mind, matter, and life after death.
