Pages : 576

Book Description
“Through this wonderful book, frustrated golfers can learn to swing like Moe [Norman] and improve their games.” —Anthony Robbins, #1 New York Times–bestselling author The mysterious and reclusive genius Moe Norman is acknowledged as the best ball-striker in the history of golf by many of the game’s greats. The Single Plane Golf Swing: Play Better Golf the Moe Norman Way reveals the secrets of the swing that enabled him to hit the ball solidly with unerring accuracy and consistency—every time. Norman’s simple, efficient, and easily understood Single Plane Swing has improved the games of thousands of golfers. Golf professional Todd Graves, known as “Little Moe” and regarded as the world authority on Norman’s swing, comprehensively teaches readers the mechanics, drills, and feelings of the Single Plane Swing that Moe called “The Feeling of Greatness.” Graves shares Norman’s brilliant insights and liberating approach to the game and demonstrates why the conventional “tour” swing is too complex and frustrating for the majority of amateurs. Illustrated with more than 300 photographs and written with Tim O’Connor, Norman’s biographer, the book also engagingly tells Norman’s bittersweet life story and explores the teacher-student bond forged between Norman and his protégé Graves. “One of golf’s greatest untold stories, Moe Norman’s life illustrated a simple and powerful truth: greatness is built from practicing the right swing in the right way. In this book, Todd Graves has given us a blueprint for that swing, for those practice habits, and most of all for a process that builds success.” —Dan Coyle, New York Times-bestselling author of The Culture Code

The Healthy Golfer

The Healthy Golfer PDF Author: Philip Maffetone
Publisher: Simon and Schuster
ISBN: 1632208687
Category : Sports & Recreation
Languages : en
Pages : 196

Book Description
Reach your full potential on the golf course by improving your mental and physical strengths. All golfers want to improve their swing and, as a result, lower their score. But often, despite numerous golf instruction videos, lessons with pros, and time on the range, they are still far away from reaching their goals. Maybe that is because golfers are thinking about the process of improvement incorrectly? Maybe achieving a repeatable swing and staying calm under pressure is not all about time on the range or on the course, but the manner in which you care for your body and mind, as that is the foundation of a great golf game. The goal of The Healthy Golfer is to provide you with information that will help engage all of your senses on the course so you can enjoy the game as much as possible for your entire life. Starting with your feet and concluding with a discussion of brain function, you will learn not only how to play better physically, but to excel at the game from a mental standpoint. Topics covered in The Healthy Golfer include: How the feet are the foundation for the swing Correcting muscle imbalances (and not by stretching) Improving mental focus on the course And many more! By focusing on critical aspects of human performance, such as diet, stress, muscle imbalance, the brain, and injuries, which are usually neglected areas of concern, The Healthy Golfer will teach you that it is impossible to reach your full potential on the course if you are not healthy in both body and mind. From the Ground Up

From the Ground Up PDF Author: James Ghi
Publisher: Page Publishing Inc
ISBN: 1643501437
Category : Biography & Autobiography
Languages : en
Pages : 378

Book Description
From the Ground Up describes the journey of James Ghi fulfilling his childhood dream of becoming a firefighter. As a premature infant James was not expected to survive. As a child he was underweight, was bullied in school, survived the wrath of an abusive father and stepfather but managed to meet the rigors required to become a firefighter. At each stage of his life he had to adjust to many circumstances, building himself from the ground up. In June 2007 the Charleston Fire Department (South Carolina) suffered the largest loss of life since the events on 9/11 when nine firefighters perished battling a fire at the Sofa Super Store. James had read the various reports written after the fire, recognizing the need for better training in Charleston. His successful career with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue gave him the necessary skills; education and confidence to apply for and accept the position of Chief of Training for the City of Charleston Fire Department. Little did he know his efforts to bring the Charleston Fire Department to nationally recognized training standards would be resisted at all levels and never imagined the efforts Charleston personnel would take to discredit him. Even with the resistance, James was able to bring the Charleston Fire Department training to nationally recognized standards and meet many of the mandates in the various reports, building it From the Ground Up.
