Machine Learning in Modeling and Simulation

Machine Learning in Modeling and Simulation PDF Author: Timon Rabczuk
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3031366441
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 456

Book Description
Machine learning (ML) approaches have been extensively and successfully employed in various areas, like in economics, medical predictions, face recognition, credit card fraud detection, and spam filtering. There is clearly also the potential that ML techniques developed in Engineering and the Sciences will drastically increase the possibilities of analysis and accelerate the design to analysis time. With the use of ML techniques, coupled to conventional methods like finite element and digital twin technologies, new avenues of modeling and simulation can be opened but the potential of these ML techniques needs to still be fully harvested, with the methods developed and enhanced. The objective of this book is to provide an overview of ML in Engineering and the Sciences presenting fundamental theoretical ingredients with a focus on the next generation of computer modeling in Engineering and the Sciences in which the exciting aspects of machine learning are incorporated. The book is of value to any researcher and practitioner interested in research or applications of ML in the areas of scientific modeling and computer aided engineering.

Semi-empirical Neural Network Modeling and Digital Twins Development

Semi-empirical Neural Network Modeling and Digital Twins Development PDF Author: Dmitriy Tarkhov
Publisher: Academic Press
ISBN: 012815652X
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 288

Book Description
Semi-empirical Neural Network Modeling presents a new approach on how to quickly construct an accurate, multilayered neural network solution of differential equations. Current neural network methods have significant disadvantages, including a lengthy learning process and single-layered neural networks built on the finite element method (FEM). The strength of the new method presented in this book is the automatic inclusion of task parameters in the final solution formula, which eliminates the need for repeated problem-solving. This is especially important for constructing individual models with unique features. The book illustrates key concepts through a large number of specific problems, both hypothetical models and practical interest. Offers a new approach to neural networks using a unified simulation model at all stages of design and operation Illustrates this new approach with numerous concrete examples throughout the book Presents the methodology in separate and clearly-defined stages

Neural Network Modeling

Neural Network Modeling PDF Author: P. S. Neelakanta
Publisher: CRC Press
ISBN: 1351428950
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 194

Book Description
Neural Network Modeling offers a cohesive approach to the statistical mechanics and principles of cybernetics as a basis for neural network modeling. It brings together neurobiologists and the engineers who design intelligent automata to understand the physics of collective behavior pertinent to neural elements and the self-control aspects of neurocybernetics. The theoretical perspectives and explanatory projections portray the most current information in the field, some of which counters certain conventional concepts in the visualization of neuronal interactions.

Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems

Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems PDF Author: Yuri Tiumentsev
Publisher: Academic Press
ISBN: 9780128152546
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 0

Book Description
Neural Network Modeling and Identification of Dynamical Systems presents a new approach on how to obtain the adaptive neural network models for complex systems that are typically found in real-world applications. The book introduces the theoretical knowledge available for the modeled system into the purely empirical black box model, thereby converting the model to the gray box category. This approach significantly reduces the dimension of the resulting model and the required size of the training set. This book offers solutions for identifying controlled dynamical systems, as well as identifying characteristics of such systems, in particular, the aerodynamic characteristics of aircraft.

Neural-Network Simulation of Strongly Correlated Quantum Systems

Neural-Network Simulation of Strongly Correlated Quantum Systems PDF Author: Stefanie Czischek
Publisher: Springer Nature
ISBN: 3030527158
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 205

Book Description
Quantum systems with many degrees of freedom are inherently difficult to describe and simulate quantitatively. The space of possible states is, in general, exponentially large in the number of degrees of freedom such as the number of particles it contains. Standard digital high-performance computing is generally too weak to capture all the necessary details, such that alternative quantum simulation devices have been proposed as a solution. Artificial neural networks, with their high non-local connectivity between the neuron degrees of freedom, may soon gain importance in simulating static and dynamical behavior of quantum systems. Particularly promising candidates are neuromorphic realizations based on analog electronic circuits which are being developed to capture, e.g., the functioning of biologically relevant networks. In turn, such neuromorphic systems may be used to measure and control real quantum many-body systems online. This thesis lays an important foundation for the realization of quantum simulations by means of neuromorphic hardware, for using quantum physics as an input to classical neural nets and, in turn, for using network results to be fed back to quantum systems. The necessary foundations on both sides, quantum physics and artificial neural networks, are described, providing a valuable reference for researchers from these different communities who need to understand the foundations of both.
