The President only made his statement after being briefed by the FDA that it was indeed a 'game changer'. The 'Left Wing' element of US politics and news, then quickly jumped on this statement to use this as a weapon against the former President and any simple drug that worked including ivermectin was attacked. A guideline development group was convened in response to the increased international attention on ivermectin as a potential treatment for COVID-19. The group reviewed pooled data from 16 randomized controlled trials (total enrolled 2407), including both inpatients and outpatients with COVID-19.
